General

V4 currently uses a cache setup which can sometimes appear to cause havoc when making any changes to your V4 store.

Whether you have installed a modification, skin or just changed anything that affects how your store front appears you must always clear the Cache. There are 2 ways to do this:
  1. In your V4 Admin, at the very bottom is Maintenance/Rebuild & Recount. Click on that and on the new page the second to last option is Clear Cache.
  2. FTP into your website, double click on /cache and delete the contents.

Skins

When customising a shipped Classic, Carreta-Soft or Carreta-Bright skin, it is important to change the name of the skin directory and reselect it in Admin. This will ensure that when it comes to upgrade time, you do not accidentally overwrite your customised version with the version from the new release of CubeCart.

Modifications

Always keep a record of the mods you have installed in your store. It will come in very handy when it comes to upgrading CubeCart.

Before altering any CubeCart code, always take a backup copy of the files (and/or database) you are changing. If something goes wrong, you will be grateful you took the time to make the backups.
