CubeCart Version 3 Documentation - Upgrading CubeCart

Google Translate:

Upgrading CubeCart

Within the download ZIP file there are 3 main subdirectories:
  • changelog
  • upgrade
  • upload

Changelog

The 'changelog' directory contains html files showing the file and file content changes between the new version and the previous. This is important when doing a manual upgrade as you can see the exact changes made in the newer version.

It is important to note that when upgrading from a much earlier version, each changelog file must be followed in order to upgrade to the newer verion.

Upgrade

Similar to the 'changelog' directory, the 'upgrade' directory details the changes to the database for each new version compared to the previous.

It is important to note that when upgrading from a much earlier version, each upgrade script must be run on the database in order to upgrade to the newer verion.

To upgrade the database to the newer version, simply upload the 'upgrade.php' file to the root of the store, ie where the 'index.php' is located. Then in the browser, go to your store homepage and substitute 'index.php' for 'upgrade.php' and hit enter. Then just follow onscreen prompts.

In the root of this directory is a 'readme' text file showing what you need to do in order to upgrade your CubeCart store.

Upload

This directory contains the complete distribution.

In order to upgrade, you must first follow the instructions as indicated in the 'readme' file in the root of the 'upgrade' directory.

Once done, and you do not wish to do a manual upgrade as the 'changelog' directory will help you with, you can upload the contents of this directory.
