CubeCart Version 3 Documentation - Skins, what they are and how to install them

Google Translate:

Skins, what they are and how to install them

A 'skin' is what we call the files associated with the design and layout of the front end of the store. In other words, what your store looks like to the world.

The core functionality of CubeCart (typically called the "backend") is independent of the way your store looks (typically called the "front end"), therefore the skin 'fits over' your store to give it that visual look and feel we associate with websites today. The best thing about skins - purchased or standard - is that they are highly customisable.

All skins are located in the 'skins' directory, which reside inside the root of your store. Within the skins directory you will see a collection of folders. These folders are your skins currently available to use with your store. Each skin can be independently activated through your Cube Cart Admin Store Configuration, General Settings.

There are 3 standard skins shipped with CubeCart; Classic, Legend and Killer. Most skins downloaded or purchased are loosely based on one of these skins.

One skin directory contains 3 sub-directories (folders); 'styleSheets', 'styleImages' and 'styleTemplates'. These 3 sub-directories and the associated files within make up the skin.

To install a skin, simply upload the folder containing the 3 content directories into the 'skins' directory and activate through your CubeCart Admin Store Configuration, General Settings.
